A brilliant charmukhi (four faced) tabla player, Ustad Shafaat Ahmed Khan was equally adept at solo performances, dance accompaniment, vocal accompaniment and instrumental accompaniment. He died at a tragically young age and is considered one of the last well-known tabla players from the Delhi gharana.
